MSA Summarized Data Source

The data source for the Attribute Analysis -- Analytic Method can be in either summarized format or in a MSA Template. This help topic covers summarized format. Below is an example of data in summarized format.

Summarized Data Format

Two columns are required: Reference value column and Number of acceptances column.

  • Maximum number of acceptances per part is 20.

  • Minimum number of parts is 8, and there must be at least 6 parts with number of acceptances greater than 0 and less than 20.

  • If lower tolerance limit is provided, then:

    • First part must have zero acceptances, and the last part must have 20 acceptances.
    • Parts must be sorted in ascending order by the number of acceptances.

  • If upper tolerance limit is provided, then:

    • First part must have 20 acceptances, and the last part must have 0 acceptances.
    • Parts must be sorted in descending order by the number of acceptances.
