Binomial Distribution Calculator¶
From Excel click...
QXL Stat Tools Tab > Distribution Fit/Calc > Distribution Calculator > Binomial
Binomial Distribution is a discrete probability distribution. The Binomial Distribution calculator allows you to calculate the probability of getting X successes out of N trials while knowing the probability of success on an individual trial.
To start the calculator, go to Statistical Tools > Distributions > Binomial.
Distribution Parameters¶
-
Number of trialsin the experiment. Must be greater than 0.
-
Probability of eventmust be greater than 0 and less than 1.
After you enter both parameters, Quantum XL will create the binomial distribution plot in a new Excel worksheet.
Calculate probabilities¶
Enter the number in the 'Number of events' box. It must be a discrete numeric value greater than 0 and less than or equal toNumber of trials.
Quantum XL can calculate:
-
Probability that X is less than that number.
-
Probability that X is less than or equal to that number.
-
Probability that X is greater than that number.
-
Probability that X is greater than or equal to that number.
-
Probability that X is equal to that number.
Select the calculation option from the Probability drop down box.
Bars on the binomial plot that fit the calculated probability are colored in red.
