The Laplace distribution is a continuous probability distribution named for Pierre-Simon Laplace. The distribution is sometimes called the double exponential distribution, as it appears to have two exponential distributions next to each other. Brownian motion, Laplace motion, and gamma processes all use the Laplace distribution.
