Tolerance Allocation

From Excel click...

QXL Monte Carlo Tab > Contribution Tools > Tolerance Allocation

The purpose of tolerance allocation is to determine which input's standard deviation has the greatest impact on the output's standard deviation.

When you select Tolerance Allocation, you will be given the opportunity to determine the type dpm used for each output distribution. The Tolerance Allocation report contains Percent Contribution Paretos, Tolerance Allocation graphs, and Output tables.

TA

Tables reflect the impact of the dpm on the output(s), based upon a percentage reduction or increase in the standard deviation of each input. For example, if the temperature's standard deviation was reduced by 50%, then the output dpm would decrease from 842,088 to 841,411.

Only outputs that are normally or uniformly distributed can be varied using tolerance allocation. For all other distributions, use the Percent Contribution.
