Options¶
The Capability Scorecard dialog is about assigning your data columns to roles. There are two required roles and two optional ones.
Column Roles¶
| Role | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Number of Units | Yes | How many units were inspected for each row |
| Number of Defects | Yes | How many defects were found in those units |
| Number of Opportunities | No | Defect opportunities per unit. When no column is assigned (or a row's value is not a positive number), the row uses 1 opportunity per unit, so DPO and DPMO are per unit. |
| Name | No | A label for each row (part, process step, line). When no column is assigned, or a row's name cell is empty, that row is labeled with its row number. |
Row Validation¶
A row is skipped entirely when its Number of Units or Number of Defects is missing, non-numeric, or not greater than zero. Skipped rows do not appear in the table, the totals, or the Pareto charts.
Output¶
The tool writes one Capability Scorecard table with a row per part (Name, Number of Units, Number of Defects, Number of Opportunities, Total Opportunities, DPU, DPO, DPMO), a Totals row, and two Pareto charts: one ranking the parts by DPU and one by DPMO. Both charts sort descending (ties broken by name in case-sensitive ordinal order, so uppercase letters sort before lowercase) and show every part with no cumulative line. The formulas are on Math Details.
