Welcome to Quantum XL

Quantum XL is a comprehensive statistical analysis and simulation add-in for Microsoft Excel, providing powerful tools for quality engineering, Six Sigma, and data-driven decision making.

Explore Quantum XL

Monte Carlo Simulation

Model uncertainty and predict outcomes before building prototypes. Mark worksheet cells as inputs and give each one a distribution, run the model, and read the spread of the result against your specification limits. Percent Contribution ranks the inputs by how much of that spread each one is responsible for, Tolerance Allocation works backwards from a target, and the Optimizer searches for the settings that best meet a goal.

Statistical Tools

Statistical process control and measurement system analysis. Create Xbar-R, I-MR, EWMA, CUSUM, attribute and rare-event control charts with automatic out-of-control detection, and change the analysis afterwards from the task pane rather than starting again. Assess capability with Cpk and histograms, summarise and visualise data sixteen ways, and run crossed, nested and extended Gage R&R studies.

Design of Experiments

Find optimal settings with fewer runs. Build two-level factorials and their fractions, three-level and general factorials, Box-Behnken, central composite, Plackett-Burman and Taguchi designs, custom designs from runs you supply, and D, A or I optimal designs for a run count no classical design offers. Analyse with least squares or logistic regression, read the DOE Advisor's findings, and visualise the fit with Pareto, main effects, interaction, surface, contour, trellis and cube plots.

Finding things

Every tool has the same set of pages, so once you know your way around one you know your way around all of them:

Page What it holds
index what the tool does, what it needs, and what lands on the worksheet
Options every control in its dialog, named as the dialog names it
How-To a walkthrough with data you can copy straight into Excel and numbers to check your own result against
Math Details the equations behind it, for the tools that compute something
