Statistical Tools¶
The tools on the QXL Stat Tools ribbon tab: statistical process control, data analysis and visualisation, and measurement system analysis.
Main Sections¶
- Control Charts, twenty-one chart types with out-of-control detection and a task pane for changing the analysis afterwards
- Analysis Tools, capability, sixteen ways to summarise and visualise data, and the confidence, correlation and time series calculations
- MSA, crossed, nested and extended Gage R&R studies, and the template that collects the data for them
Things that apply to every tool¶
- Data Selection, the window that opens first and how to point it at your data
- Data Types, what Continuous, Nominal, Count, Integer and DateTime mean to the engine, and how DateTime and cyclical grouping work
- Update Analysis, re-running an analysis after the data changes
- Modify Analysis, changing an analysis without starting again
- Settings, options and configuration
Also on this tab, and not covered here¶
Hypothesis Tests, Distribution Fit and the Distribution Calculator, Reliability, QFD, FMEA, Pugh, Decision Trees, DSM, Problem Solving and Stack/Unstack Data all still work, and all of them still run the previous version's code. Their help pages are not part of this v18 help system: they described the previous version and were removed from these menus on 2026-09-02 rather than left to be read as current. They will return as they are rewritten.
