Unmark

From Excel click...

QXL Monte Carlo New > Design > Unmark

Removes Quantum XL input and output markings from the selected cells. The cells themselves are left alone: a value stays a value and a formula stays a formula.

There is no dialog. Unmark asks one question, does the work, and reports what it did.

How it works

  1. Select one cell or a range of cells.
  2. Press Unmark. If nothing is selected it says so:

Select a worksheet cell or range to unmark first.

  3. Confirm the one question, which covers the whole selection at once rather than asking per cell:

Remove Quantum XL input/output markings from the selected cells?

  4. Every selected cell that carries an input or output marking has it removed. A selected cell with no marking is left alone and reports nothing of its own.

  5. A message says how many markings were removed:

    Removed 3 markings.

The count is reported even when it is zero, so a selection that had nothing on it says Removed 0 markings. rather than closing silently. A single removal reads Removed 1 marking.

Answering No to the confirmation removes nothing.

What is removed

Unmarking removes all three things the marking wrote: the entry in the container, the DFSSXLTag_ defined name, and the note on the cell. The cell's own value or formula is left exactly as it is.

For what each of those three is and why it exists, see what a marking is.
