Modify Monte Carlo Design Sheet

Changes the number of inputs and outputs on an existing Monte Carlo Design Sheet, and adds or removes the truncation columns. The dialog states what it keeps:

The dialog

It is the Create dialog retitled, with the boxes already holding the sheet's current numbers, and the first button reading Modify Sheet instead of Create Sheet. Every control is described on the Create Monte Carlo Design Sheet Options page.

Which sheet it changes

The active sheet, when that is a design sheet. If the workbook has design sheets but you are not standing on one, it finds one. If there are none at all:

There are no Monte Carlo design sheets in the active workbook.

The warning before anything changes

Reducing a count deletes rows, and you are told exactly which ones before it happens.

This change deletes part of the design sheet

The warning names every row that goes, by number and by the name on it, and it appears whether or not you have typed anything into those rows. Nothing has been changed at the point you see it:

Nothing has been changed yet. Continue to apply the change, or Cancel to leave the sheet as it is.

When inputs are being removed, the warning adds what that does to your equations:

Any equation that still references a deleted input will treat it as an empty cell (zero), because the deleted rows are cleared, not removed.

Removing the truncation columns warns about nothing, because it deletes nothing. A bound you typed into a truncation cell is kept on the marking when the columns go, and written back into its cell if the columns come back.

Two sheets it will not change

A design sheet from an earlier version, or one whose defined names were changed:

This sheet is marked as a Monte Carlo design sheet, but its layout is not one this command can change. Design sheets from earlier Quantum XL versions, and sheets whose defined names were changed, cannot be modified. Create a new design sheet instead.

A sheet imported from a Quantum XL DOE model that has categorical inputs:

This design sheet was imported from a Quantum XL DOE model and has categorical inputs, which this command cannot keep. Changing the number of inputs or outputs would delete the Categorical Inputs area and break every output equation. Import the model again if you need a different number of rows.

An imported sheet with no categorical inputs modifies normally.
