Create Monte Carlo Design Sheet Options¶
Every control in the Create Monte Carlo Design Sheet dialog. The same dialog, retitled, is used by Modify Monte Carlo Design Sheet.
Where the sheet goes¶
This question is asked first, and only when the workbook already holds a design sheet:
This workbook already has a design sheet
Choose where the new Monte Carlo design sheet goes.
The reason it is asked at all is stated in the dialog:
When a model runs, Quantum XL runs every design sheet in the workbook together. If you add a second design sheet to this workbook, both sheets will run as one model.

The new workbook is not created until after the counts are confirmed, so cancelling the next dialog does not leave an empty workbook behind.
Number of inputs¶
How many input blocks the sheet has. A whole number from 1 to 10,000.

Number of outputs¶
How many output rows the sheet has. A whole number from 1 to 10,000.
The number of outputs must be a whole number from 1 to 10,000.
Add truncation columns¶
Off by default. Turning it on adds two columns to every input block, and the dialog says what they are for:
Two extra columns, Truncate Left and Truncate Right, where a bound cuts off the tail of a distribution. Leave a cell empty for no bound on that side.
The same idea as the Truncation section of the Mark Input dialog, laid out as two cells per row instead.
The buttons¶
