MSA Attribute -- Analytic Method

From Excel click...

QXL Stat Tools Tab > MSA (Gage R&R) > Attribute MSA -- Analytic Method

Data source

The data source for an MSA Attribute -- Analytic Method can be in the form of an MSA Template or summarized data. Single tolerance limit is required (either upper or lower), while the other limit is optional.

Limitations

The Analytic Method has the following limitations:

  • There should be exactly 20 trials.

  • Maximum number of acceptances per part is 20.

  • Minimum number of parts is 8, and there must be at least 6 parts with number of acceptances greater than 0 and less than 20.

  • If lower tolerance limit is provided, then:

    • First part must have zero acceptances, and the last part must have 20 acceptances.
    • Parts must be sorted in ascending order by the number of acceptances.
  • If upper tolerance limit is provided, then:
    • First part must have 20 acceptances, and the last part must have 0 acceptances.
    • Parts must be sorted in descending order by the number of acceptances.

Results

The results table displays the formulas for the Fitted Line, Bias and Repeatability, and t-Test for Bias=0.

Results

A value of t-Test for Bias less than or equal to 2.093 indicates that the Bias is significantly different from zero.

Along with numerical analysis, Quantum XL will display the following charts:

  • Best fit line -- Best fit line plotted on normal probability scale.

  • Gage Capability Curve -- Plots the probability of accepting/rejecting a part based upon its value.
