Shared Math Details

Shared Math Details holds the formulas that more than one Quantum XL tool uses. Each formula is defined once here, and a tool's own Math Details page links to it instead of repeating the math. When a shared formula changes, it is updated in one place.

Pages are grouped by topic:

  • Distribution Functions: standard probability functions and their inverses used across tools, for example the standard normal, the Student t distribution, the chi-square distribution, and the Beta distribution.
  • Shared Estimators and Tests: estimators and statistical tests that appear on more than one tool, for example the Anderson-Darling test and shared quantile methods.
  • Control Chart Math: the constants, standard-deviation estimators, control limits, and out-of-control rules shared across the control charts.

How to use these pages

A tool's Math Details page still explains that tool in full. Where it uses a shared formula, it names the specific form it uses and links to the exact equation on the matching Shared Math Details page. Trivial quantities that every reader already knows, such as the mean and the standard deviation, stay on the tool's own page and are not repeated here.
