Latitude Plot Options

Every control in the Latitude Plot dialog.

Latitude Plot Options

Display Expected Variation Region. On by default. Draws the region covering the stated proportion of the pair's joint variation.

Display Dots. On by default. Draws the pass and fail points across the pair's space.

Confidence Interval. The proportion the Expected Variation Region covers, between 0.1 and 0.999999:

Confidence interval must be a number between 0.1 and 0.999999.

Latitude Plot Window

How the axes of each chart are set:

Choice What it does
Default Plot Range uses the range the engine suggests for each input
Custom Plot Range uses the low and the high you typed in the grid

The input grid

One row per marked input, with six columns:

Column What it holds
Input Name the input's name
Distribution its distribution. An input whose parameters cannot be read shows Invalid parameters
Low the bottom of its plotted range
High the top of it
Nominal the value it is held at on charts that do not plot it

Tabbing into a Low, High or Nominal box selects its contents, so typing replaces the value rather than adding to it. | Active | whether it is plotted |

Select all and Unselect all tick and clear the Active column in one press.

What each box has to hold

Problem What it says
fewer than two inputs are active Select at least two active inputs to plot the pairs.
Low is not a number Input 'Pressure': Low must be a real number.
High is not a number Input 'Pressure': High must be a real number.
the two are the wrong way round Input 'Pressure': Low must be less than High.
Nominal is not a number Input 'Pressure': Nominal must be a real number.

At least two inputs must be active, because a chart is a pair of them.

Refusals that come from the run

Some limits belong to the engine rather than to the dialog: too few varying inputs among those selected, and the size caps on how much can be plotted at once. Those are reported in the engine's own words when the run is attempted.
