Clean Up

From Excel click...

QXL Monte Carlo Tab > Create / Modify Design Sheet > Clean up workbook(s)

Quantum XL uses Excel 'Names' collection to store information about inputs and outputs. Sometimes this collection can grow large, which can result in slow performance when running an analysis or when adding new inputs and outputs or changing existing ones.

'Clean Up' will remove all unused information that was used to define inputs and outputs.

These corrupted Names are usually the result of copying or deleting Excel cells that hold information about Quantum XL inputs and outputs. You should avoid deleting or copying those cells, and use the 'Quantum XL > Move Cells' feature instead.

Things you should avoid when working with Quantum XL workbooks:

  • Do not delete Excel Cells that hold information about inputs and outputs. Use 'Quantum XL > Mark Cell as > Unmark' first to remove metadata, and then delete the cell.

  • Do not copy entire sheets that have Quantum XL inputs or outputs. Use 'Quantum XL > Move Cells > Move Sheet' to move these sheets.

  • If you delete a sheet that has Quantum XL inputs and outputs, run this feature to clean up Names that are not needed any more.
